What is expected of me as an observer of a provisionally registered teacher
Observation of practice within specific contexts is critical in assuring that theory aligns with practice, and that knowledge is effectively employed in the craft of teaching.
Undertaking observation of teaching practice is therefore a critical role in advising provisionally registered teachers about their progress and in contributing to their development as they work towards recommendation for full registration.
Working collaboratively
You will:
- observe the provisionally registered teacher teach in their category of registration
- provide feedback about their progress using the Standard for Full Registration as your guide
- work collaboratively with other people involved in the induction process
Recording progress
You will:
- agree an accurate note of the observation
- maintain relevant records adhering to data protection legislation
