Schools and learning communities recognised for their excellent professional learning culture by GTC Scotland

The General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTC Scotland) has presented 20 Excellence in Professional Learning Award for Schools and Learning Communities.

Entries for the Saroj Lal Award for a Pioneering Spirit in Equality and Diversity now open

The Award has been created to identify and celebrate the efforts of colleagues who demonstrate a pioneering spirit, determination and challenge adversity in a bid to promote and facilitate a culture and ethos of equality and diversity and actively challenge discrimination.

GTC Scotland announces first BME Council Convener

Khadija Mohammed has been elected as the new GTC Scotland Council Convener. She has recently served as Vice Convener and has been on Council since 2020. Khadija replaces David Innes who came to the end of his term at the start of April 2022.

GTC Scotland release creativity in learning and teaching guide for teachers

GTC Scotland, the independent professional and regulatory body for teaching in Scotland, has released Creativity in learning and teaching: a professional guide for teachers. The guide was written in partnership with the National Creative Learning Network.

GTC Scotland publishes report on Registration Rules Consultation

GTC Scotland, the independent professional and regulatory body for teachers in Scotland, has today published the report into its 3-month public consultation on proposed updated Registration Rules, intended to replace the current Registration and Standards Rules 2015.
