New platform: guidance for provisional registrants

GTC Scotland launched the new MyGTCS platform in August 2025 to all provisionally registered teachers and their supporters. This was followed by a rollout to all teachers in 2026.

The new platform replaces the electronic and paper-based profiles used for the Teacher Induction Scheme and Flexible Route. All provisionally registered teachers now have the same induction recording experience, and those who support them only need to use one system.

MyGTCS provides provisionally registered teachers with a simplified method of recording their progress as they work towards Full Registration.

Provisional registrants will use MyGTCS to:

reflect and plan, recording their progress in MyGTCS
decide who they share their reflections and progress with
link with their supporters
ensure they receive the feedback they need to successfully achieve full registration
continue to meet existing requirements and expectations of the induction experience

Supporters, reviewers and observers

Experienced teachers with the Standard for Full Registration continue to be central to the induction process. We rely on teachers to ensure that fair decisions are made to award full registration. We know that teaches take their responsibilities in this regard seriously. This is key to trusted teaching.
