  • the use of AI
  • public and digital expression of views

The guide reflects current professional expectations, COPAC, the Professional Standards and learning from the Fitness to Teach Insight report 2018–2023.

As the regulator of teachers, a core part of our role is to inform and educate teachers on areas of risk to help them avoid issues from arising.

We have published other professional guides on equality and diversity, and ethics. Our guides explain teaching standards in practical contexts across the teacher journey.

By communicating standards of conduct and competence, we trust that they will help sustain public confidence in teaching as a trusted and respected profession.
