We have published our annual report for 2025 to 2026. The report highlights the progress we have made over the reporting period (1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026), along with key achievements in our work towards trusted teaching.
Ensuring trust in the teaching profession through our core work of setting, upholding and promoting high standards remains our key priority as the regulator for teachers in Scotland.
Clare Harker, Convener of GTC Scotland Council, said: “As convener, I will ensure that we continue to place high teaching standards at the centre of our work and maintain the legacy we have in Scotland where the quality of teachers and teaching is respected.”
Dr Pauline Stephen, GTC Scotland Chief Executive and Registrar, added: “This annual report marks the midway point of our strategic plan 2023 to 2028. It has been gratifying to see work that we initiated at the beginning of the plan take root and reach an advanced stage. As we move into the penultimate year of this strategic plan, it is with a strong sense of purpose and belief in what we can achieve.”
Our strategic themes
To help us to achieve our vision of trusted teaching we have 2 strategic themes: trust and impact.
