Full Registration certificates

Certificates of Full Registration will be posted out soon. In the meantime, you can use Search the Register to check your registration status. If you've not received your certificate of Full Registration by the start of October, please contact us.

To notify us of a name change, please use the Change of Name Form and attach a copy of a document providing proof of name change.

We accept the following documents as proof of name change:

  • a marriage certificate
  • civil partnership certificate
  • divorce certificate
  • or change of name deed

Please use the email subject “Change of Name”, and scan or photograph this certificate, ensuring it is saved in PDF format with the title “Your Last Name as previously on the register – Your GTC Scotland Registration Number”.

We will issue a confirmation email once we have been able to process this.

Fully registered teachers

If you are a provisional registrant, using the new MyGTCS platform, you can request a name change on MyGTCS.

  1. Once logged in, go to the 'Personal details' tab.
  2. Select to 'Request change of name'. This will open the change of name request form.
  3. Submit your change of name, ensuring you attach a proof of name change document.

We will be in touch to confirm your registered name has changed once we have processed this.
