How many teacher are dual registered and/or single registered in Gaelic across the North Ayrshire / country / universities?
Response
Please note that GTC Scotland keeps a professional register and not an employment based one. Registrants self-declare their employment information and a teacher may appear on the Register of Teachers without being employed by a Local Authority.
As data extracted on 16 September 2025, there are 78 individuals who hold registration in Secondary (Gaelic) education and at least one other registration. In comparison, there are 54 registrants who only hold registration in Secondary (Gaelic) education.
There are no registrants who hold currently registration in Secondary (Gaelic) education and who have self-declared North Ayrshire Council as their employer.
We have also provided a list of the Higher Education Institutions where those holding Secondary (Gaelic) education obtained their qualification.
Please note that there are 24 registrants who gained their registration through Additional (Professional) Registration, meaning there is no awarding authority recorded. These registrants all hold registration in Secondary (Gaelic) education and at least one other registration.
Additionally, there are 2 registrants who gained their registration via the Qualified outside Scotland (QOS) route. There is no awarding authority recorded for QOS registrations and both registrants only hold registration in Secondary (Gaelic) education.
