Full request

If a named individual with a given date of birth was taken off the register. If there was a fitness to teach hearing related to them, the requester asked for a copy of the decision/report of that hearing.

Response

I refer to your request for information dated 29 February 2024 (FOI 23 - 24 / 94) in which you asked for information on a named individual including records related to any potential Fitness to Teach decision connected to them which we have handled under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act (FOISA). Please note that based on the date of birth provided in your request, we have not been able to identify an individual with the name and date of birth provided. As such, we do not hold records related to the named individual with the date of birth you provided and have therefore applied section 17(1)(b) of FOISA as the information is not held by us.

However, by way of advice and assistance under section 15 of FOISA, I can advise that there is a Member of the Public - Search the Register functionality which allows individuals to establish whether a Registrant currently appears on the Register.

I hope this information is helpful. If you are dissatisfied with this response, you may contact informationgovernance@gtcs.org.uk to request GTCS conduct a review of this decision.
