Apply as a college lecturer

Registration with GTC Scotland now forms part of the agreed national terms and conditions of employment for all college lecturers.

In March 2018 Colleges Scotland Employers Association and the EIS – Further Education Lecturers’ Association (EIS-FELA) agreed on mandatory registration with GTC Scotland as part of the outcome of national bargaining (NJNC Circular 03/18).

College Lecturers covered by the NJNC agreements (all unpromoted and promoted lecturers at levels 1, 2 and 3) should apply for registration.

If you already hold GTC Scotland registration in another category (e.g. Secondary or Primary) and want to add registration in Further Education, please contact gtcs@gtcs.org.uk with the subject line ‘College Lecturer registration’ and include your GTC Scotland Registration Number, Name and Date of Birth.

If you hold a TQFE; a GTC Scotland recognised primary or secondary teaching qualification gained in Scotland; or an equivalent teaching qualification gained outside of Scotland, please apply through the appropriate link below.

If you do not have a teaching qualification yet, or you have a teaching qualification that you know is not recognised by GTC Scotland, you can apply for Provisional (Conditional) Registration.
