What to record on MyPL

On MyPL you can list any Areas for Development (AfD) you have agreed as part of your Professional Review and Development (PRD) meeting. You can also add Areas for Development that are extra to your PRD. For example, you might add a personal area for development such as ‘completed a beginner French course’.

Please note, you can no longer link an Area for Development and Professional Learning entry on MyPL, this is not a requirement for your PU submission. Any previous links made will still be viewable.

How to add an AfD entry

You can either add Areas for Development entries from the MyPL homepage or from the Areas for AfD page.

From the MyPL homepage, click on the 'Add new entry' button. You will be redirected to a page to add a 'Title' and 'Target date' and link the entry to the Professional Standards. You can also reflect on what you hope to achieve and add any notes.

From the Areas for Development (AfD) page you can follow the same process by clicking the 'Add Area for Development' button.

Managing your AfD entries

Editing an AfD

Click on the entry title in the Areas for Development table. A window will pop up with all the information previously added for that entry. Click on any of the fields or notes to edit.

Deleting an AfD

Find the entry you want to delete in the Areas for Development table and select it using the checkbox. Click on the trash can icon found on the action bar above the table. A window will pop up asking if you are sure you want to delete the selected entries.
