Who we work with

GTC Scotland works with partners and stakeholders across the education system both nationally and internationally.

Memoranda of Understanding

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is an agreed framework for co-operation and collaboration between organisations.

It does not affect statutory functions or amend policies or agreements already in place.

Scottish Social Services Council

In February 2011 we signed an MoU with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) in order to help us to fulfil our statutory duties as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Scottish Government

In August 2012 we signed an MoU with the Scottish Government in order to collaborate, promote and improve learning and teaching in Scotland with the aim of increasing opportunities and improving outcomes for learners.

Regulatory bodies

We regularly meet with teacher regulation bodies in England, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales to discuss topical issues.

We are also a member of the International Forum of Teacher Regulatory Authorities which brings together representatives of regulatory authorities in Europe, Africa, North America and Australasia to share effective practice and discuss opportunities to collaborate and develop as professional bodies.
