Between September 2010 and January 2011
Scottish Government consultation period - Concluded

1 October 2010 - 10 January 2011
GTC Scotland consultation period - Concluded

February 2011 - March 2011
Draft Order laid in the Scottish Parliament for approval - Order approved on 9 March 2011 and passed into law on 17 March 2011

4 April 2011
First part of the Order (enabling powers) commences

2 April 2012
First fully independent Council formed and all functions in place
