Withdrawals from the Teacher Induction Scheme

If you decide to withdraw from the Teacher Induction Scheme prior to entering the classroom, can you please tell us by emailing studentadmin@gtcs.org.uk stating your full name, date of birth and university.

In addition, if you have decided to withdraw from your course, please let us know as soon as possible, by emailing studentadmin@gtcs.org.uk stating your full name, date of birth and university. Please note the student administrator will confirm your withdrawal with your university before taking any action, so it is very important to inform your university.

Some probationary teachers decide to resign from the Teacher Induction Scheme and either choose to follow the Flexible Route or leave teaching altogether.

In cases where the teacher has moved to the Flexible Route scheme, they should speak to their local authority induction manager and make sure that their profile is completed as far as possible.

Once the local authority has received an official resignation, they will inform us of the withdrawal. If the probationer's profile is up-to-date at the time they leave, any service undertaken until the date of resignation may be credited towards the Flexible Route 270 day requirement.
