GTC Scotland, regulating the profession

Find out more about the professional standards expected of Scottish teachers

Parents

As a parent you have a right to expect whoever teaches your children to be of the highest quality.

As the body that regulates the teaching profession in Scotland, we understand that you will also want to know as much as possible about what we do.

In this section of our website we have provided information that is relevant to you. Here you will find details about the work of the GTC Scotland, the qualifications and experience required for teachers to be registered with us, and how to make a complaint in the unlikely event that you are unhappy with a particular teacher.

This section will be changing all the time and we would like your input to continue making it as relevant as possible. Please contact us if you would like to suggest additions and / or changes.
