The PVG Scheme

The Scottish Government implemented the Protection of  Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in February 2011. From this date anyone seeking work with children or protected adults will have to apply to join the Scheme in order to be eligible to take up a post either in a paid or voluntary capacity.

The PVG Scheme and the GTC Scotland

We have a duty to ensure that anyone who is applying for registration is suitably qualified and fit to teach. In order to do this, PVG Scheme membership is a requirement of registration.
