    Secondary probation timetable

I start my probation in August and i have been given a timetable which doesnt include 4th, 5th or 6th year. Is this allowed as I had been told that I was entitled to a class that would sit a national qualification at the end of the school year?

It is the General Teaching Council for Scotland’s understanding that probationer teachers following the One Year Teacher Induction Scheme should have a good range of year classes including certificated classes as part of their timetable.

If this is not possible we would suggest you look at the possibility of team teaching with another teacher within the same department to gain experience in this area.

Hi it is possible that the S3 are doing Standad Grade work and it is always great to have the chance to try different things with them without all the resposibility.  If you use the Body of Knowledge and make up your own evaluation sheets within the right time line, you will be doing fine.

Best just to keep in line but you could check with GTC
