'When Gran Was a Girl.' Assembly ideas

I am doing an assembly with a very rowdy Primary 2 class on 'When Gran Was a Girl.' I am a probationer so any ideas would be great.

     Thanks

Hi, my class of P2's recently did "In granny's day" as a topic. We rounded it off by allocating a decade (from the last 60 years) to a group of 4 children, who then did some simple homework research on "any important event" which occurred during that time. They brought in everything from the moon landing to live aid to J's mum being born and some brought photo's from the web etc. parent's had obviously been involved and the kids all came back with something. We displayed this research as a time line of the last 6 decades along one long corridor in school.  We thought of presenting it with each child taking an event, either their own research or some one elses and forming a human timeline, then briefly orally describing their events in sequential order but we ran out of time for this part! Long story a bit shorter, perhaps you could try the human timeline of important events from gran's day til now as a starter for ten for your assembly?

GOOD LUCK with whatever you do on stage - oh, and happy job hunting!

    regards

    Karen
