Meeting and minutes

Council meetings take place four times a year, although special meetings may take place when required.

The next meeting will be held on:

Future meetings are planned for:

  • Wednesday 19 September 2012
  • Wednesday 5 December 2012

Meetings are held in Clerwood House and are open to the public.

Review of Teacher Employment in Scotland (McCormac Review)

GTC Scotland acknowledges that many of the report's recommendations are relevant to the work of SNCT and therefore lie outwith the remit of the Council.

While broadly supportive of those proposals in the Report which maintain and enhance professionalism in teaching, we also recognise the need for very detailed discussion of some recommendations which are directly relevant to GTCS responsibilities.

On 28 September 2011 comments by GTC Scotland were presented to Council. The following paper discusses some of the issues:
