Council Appointments

An Appointments Committee has been established which is made up of GTC Scotland registered teachers and lay members that are independent of GTC Scotland. The Appointments Committee is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, selection and appointment of registered teachers and lay members to serve on GTC Scotland's Adjudicating Panels and on the independent Appeals Board, and of 7 lay members of Council.

Appointments are not positions of employment and are not subject to employment law. They are public appointments or statutory offices involving a commitment of five days or more each year.

Further Opportunities to apply to serve on our Adjudicating Panels

In 2011/2012 the Appointments Committee undertook an extensive recruitment round to appoint individuals to serve on our Adjudicating Panels to take forward the work of the new, independent GTC Scotland from 2012.

If you have an interest in applying to serve on our Adjudicating Panels and have missed this recruitment round, don't worry - there will be further opportunities.
