The following research papers relate to Teacher Induction Scheme:
Each year we conduct a survey of teachers who completed their induction year in the preceding June and who obtained full registration. The survey offers a snapshot of the post-induction employment outcomes for these newly qualified teachers.
This new report explores in more depth some of the issues raised by the earlier reports. It is the result of a series of focus groups held with Head Teachers and Supporters in seven local authorities.
The report looks at how people become Supporters, what training they receive, what they do to balance the role of being a Supporter with their other responsibilities and what support they have from their schools and local authorities. It also examines what Supporters and Head Teachers do to offer CPD opportunities for probationers and discusses the impact of dealing with probationers who struggle to reach the Standard.

This is a conference paper presented at the British Educational Research Association (BERA) conference in September 2009. This paper summarises the results of phase 2 of the Models of Support project, which sought to gain a deeper understanding of some of the issues identified in phase 1. This phase took the form of a series of focus groups conducted in seven local authorities in the spring of 2008
This is a conference paper presented at 32nd Association of Teacher Educators in Europe (ATEE) conference, held in August 2007 in Telford, England. This project was undertaken to assess the nature and impact of the support offered to probationer teachers, with a view to future enhancements of the Teacher Induction Scheme (TIS) and the provision of good practice guidelines for a range of stakeholders. It specifically involved consultation with Head Teachers and with Supporters to discover their perceptions on the operation of the scheme.

This paper is an occasional paper, published by GTC Scotland in November 2005. In Spring 2005, GTC Scotland surveyed all newly qualified teachers who had achieved The Standard for Full Registration via Teacher Induction Scheme in 2003 and 2004 to ascertain their retrospective views and experiences of various aspects of the Teacher Induction Scheme.
In this publication, research findings focussed on teachers' experiences of the Induction Scheme itself and articulation with initial teaching experiences (with some focus on CPD activities) are presented.
