The Teacher Researcher Programme offers teachers the opportunity to carry out research aiming to improve learning and teaching and to support teacher professionalism.
Usually, your research proposal should relate to our Research Priorities, but we are willing to consider innovative ideas in other areas too.
GTC Scotland will meet class cover costs for up to ten days and provide appropriate travel and subsistence expenses.
If you are a fully registered teacher working in a Scottish school you are eligible to apply for support through the Programme.
Please note:
If your application is successful, our Educational Planning and Research Officer will provide support and advice on research methodology and on preparing your final report.
If you wish, you can also take part in the Emerging Researcher Network set up recently by the Scottish Educational Research Association. This will put you in touch with academic researchers in all of Scotland's universities.
