Returning to Teaching

If you have been out of teaching for a while but wish to return to the classroom, you will need to register with us again.

• Enhanced Disclosure Scotland application

To request an application form please complete the Request for Application Form.

You will also be required to pay a re-registration fee of £60.00.

Once the registration process is completed, you will receive a letter confirming your registration status with GTC Scotland and will be eligible to start employment.

Some Local Authorities require teachers who have been out of the profession for a number of years to complete a return to teaching/refresher course. We have produced some information on Refresher Courses which may apply to you.
