Our Annual Report indicates our success in achieving the targets set by our strategic objectives.

Strategic Plan

Our Strategic Plan (pdf) sets out our agreed strategy for our growth and development for the period 2009 - 2013.

Six objectives form the basis of the Strategic Plan:-

  1. To facilitate the transition of GTC Scotland to an independent, profession-led, regulatory body
  2. To maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning in Scotland
  3. To maintain standards of professional conduct and competence in teaching
  4. To enhance the status and standing of teaching and the teaching profession 
  5. To develop the strengths and expertise of Council members and staff
  6. To run an effective and cost-efficient organisation
Annual Plan

OurAnnual Planis based on the objectives and targets identified in our Strategic Plan. Within each target, key priorities and related activities are identified, forming the basis of departmental or project action plans across the organisation.

The 2006-2007 Annual Plan replaced the previous format of Operational Plan.

Equality and Diversity Strategy and Action Plan

GTC Scotland has made a commitment to promoting equality and diversity in all its activities. We acknowledge and value that all people are different. Our aim is for all our policies and ways of working to be fair to all individuals and groups.

We have an Equality and Diversity Strategy to promote equality and diversity.

An Equality and Diversity Action Plan has been developed to put the strategy into practice. This will be monitored and reviewed regularly.
