Leadership and Management

Leadership and management skills are important to all teachers throughout their careers.  This is particularly so for teachers who wish to undertake promoted posts.

Pathways to leadership and management will highlight the skills required at each promoted stage and will help prepare for those stages.

The Standard for Headship was established to priovide a framework for a professional training programme for headship.

Not every teacher following the leadership and management career route will want to become a headteacher.  However, the skills developed will be of use to them and their schools.
