Eligibility

To be eligible to embark on the Chartered Teacher Programme, a teacher must:

• Have a fully recognised teaching qualification
• Be FULLY registered with the GTC Scotland
• Be at the top of the main grade salary scale
• Have maintained a CPD portfolio
• Apply for a Certificate of Eligibility from GTC Scotland

Achieving Chartered Teacher Status

Before entering the programme, teachers seeking Chartered Teacher status are required to complete a self evaluation module Module 1 Self Evaluation. 

After completing module 1, teachers must meet The Standard for Chartered Teacher by following the The Programme Route which involves completing a number of Core and Option Modules with an Accredited Chartered Teacher Provider.
